Overview

SEN Teaching Assistant – Speech & Language

Primary School SALT Provision, Camden Primary • Start Date: ASAP • Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term

The Role

In this SEN Teaching Assistant role, you will work alongside a specialist SEN teacher to deliver tailored interventions and provide in-class support as part of the school’s newly launched SALT provision. Pupils will primarily remain in their mainstream classes, accessing the provision for targeted support as needed. The provision, located in a dedicated space adjacent to the main school building, will initially support 7 pupils, with capacity to grow to 10.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement communication-focused strategies and resources to help pupils access learning across the curriculum.
  • Support children in mainstream classrooms to enhance their understanding and communication.
Qualifications
  • Experience supporting children with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN) or within a SEND setting.
  • Confident delivering small-group or one-to-one interventions.
  • Patient, empathetic, and flexible attitude.
  • Committed to inclusive education and promoting pupil independence.
