Job Summary

Required Qualifications

• Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology
• Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech‑Language Pathology
• Experience in Speech Language Pathology (new graduates encouraged)
• Additional certifications or licenses as required

Essential Work Functions

• Use standardized assessments and clinical observation to evaluate speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders across a diverse patient population
• Design personalized therapy programs based on evaluation findings, patient goals, and evidence‑based practices
• Continuously assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and maintain detailed, accurate documentation in the electronic medical record
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on effective communication strategies, home‑based exercises, and safe swallowing practices, offering supportive counseling as required
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to provide a comprehensive patient‑centered approach
• Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols and regulatory standards while addressing patients’ comfort needs during therapy sessions
• Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities to remain current with best practices in speech‑language therapy
• Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice

Required Essential Skills

• Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication skills
• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
• Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50–100 lbs), push, pull, and bend
• Professionalism and positive attitude when working with diverse personnel
• Fine motor skills for handling equipment and procedures
• Coping with frequent public contact, meeting deadlines under pressure, and working with occasional supervision
• Visual acuity and effective communication capabilities
