Responsibilities
  • Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and interactive lessons.
  • Work with children on a 1:1 and small group basis to help overcome barriers to learning.
  • Assist the speech and language therapist in implementing individualised therapy plans.
  • Conduct one-on-one or small group sessions with students to practice speech and language skills.
  • Monitor and document student progress and adjust therapy techniques accordingly.
  • Collaborate with teachers and parents to develop strategies for incorporating speech and language goals into classroom and home environments.
  • Support students during classroom activities, ensuring their participation and comprehension.
Requirements
  • Experience and knowledge of social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH).
  • Bachelor's degree in speech and language pathology, communication disorders, or a related field.
  • Experience working with children with speech, language and communication difficulties (previous experience in an educational setting is highly desirable).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Awareness of and knowledge about different additional needs such as ASC, ADHD, MLD and SEMH.
