Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Assistive Communication Service, as part of Central London Community Healthcare (CLCH). We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Speech and Language therapy Technician.

The Assistive Communication Service (ACS) has been identified by NHS England as one of the specialised Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) services for London. We deliver specialist AAC assessments, prescription, initial training, and set up of equipment. We will encourage you to develop your potential in an environment that is well supported professionally and managerially, via a robust supervision system.

The maintenance of skills within the ever-evolving field of AAC is particularly supported with an emphasis upon self-directed learning and training as appropriate.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the programming and updating of communication software on the communication devices. This will include the service and maintenance of the communication devices, as well as conducting software/equipment review clinics with clients. The post holder will also have to monitor stock levels of devices, accessories, and consumables, and order replacements as necessary.
