Job Description:

Your responsibilities

  • Working closely with the people we support to develop and implement individualised easy read versions of their care documentation to promote co-production.
  • Completing speech and language assessment tools and analysing results (with support from the SLT).
  • Creating and maintaining the bank of communication-related documentation for the region.
  • Supporting staff training & development.
  • Providing high-quality written reports (supervised by the SLT).
  • Attending regular clinical and service development meetings.
  • Being an integral part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team.
  • Contributing to audit and research.
  • Carrying out these duties in consultation and under supervision of the Regional Lead Speech and Language Therapist, contributing to the maintenance and development of a high-quality Speech and Language Therapy service.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience working with people in a similar or related field relevant to the post.
  • Knowledge of communication approaches.
  • A good understanding of relevant legal frameworks (e.g., Mental Capacity Act).
  • Literacy and technology skills to create reports and utilise specialised communication aid software.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
