Post: Speech & Language Therapy Assistant

Contract: Permanent

Working hours: Full time, 40 hours per week

Salary: £26,500 per year

Location: Cygnet Wast Hills

Responsibilities

• Support the communication needs of individuals at Cygnet Wast Hills under the direction of a Speech and Language Therapist (SLT).
• Work directly with individuals or groups; report on progress and contribute to the development and maintenance of an accessible communication environment.
• Provide clinical and administrative support as part of the SLT service; participate in regular supervision and training opportunities.
• Help prepare resources for individuals and contribute to person-centred care plans aimed at stability and discharge to less restrictive settings.

Qualifications and attributes

• An interest in Speech and Language Therapy.
• Experience in the field of learning disability and/or autism is desirable.
• A genuine desire to help others.
• Ability to follow and comply with delegated tasks.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• Enthusiasm, motivation and passion for the role.
