Overview

Speech and Language Therapist - Specialist School – Bristol. We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) to join a specialist school in Bristol. This is a full-time or part-time role supporting children and young people with a range of communication needs, including those with SEND and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). The position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a nurturing and supportive school environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assessing, planning, and delivering therapy to pupils with a range of speech, language, and communication needs.
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff, support staff, and families to support integrated communication approaches across the school day.
  • Supporting the development of communication-friendly environments and individualised strategies for students with complex needs.
  • Contributing to Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs), annual reviews, and multi-disciplinary meetings.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely clinical records in line with professional standards.
  • Providing training, advice, and support to school staff to build confidence in communication strategies.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Qualified and HCPC-registered Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Previous experience working with children, ideally within educational or specialist settings.
  • Strong understanding of SEND and communication difficulties, particularly relating to ASC.
  • Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can assist with this).
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team-working skills.
