Job summary

Linq Recruitment Specialists is recruiting for a Speech & Language Therapist to join a specialist school in Walsall, supporting pupils aged 7–18 with EHCPs. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to develop communication and language skills.

The role offers a permanent, term-time only position with a Monday to Friday pattern, band 5 or 6 level, and a DBS clearance requirement. Newly qualified SLTs are encouraged to apply and grow specialist SEN experience.

Qualifications

• Qualified Speech & Language Therapist with HCPC registration.
• Newly qualified candidates are welcome to apply.
• Ideally operating at Band 6 level, or an experienced Band 5
• Previous SEN or specialist education experience is desirable but not essential
• Strong interest in working with children and young people with complex needs
• Makaton knowledge is advantageous but not essential
• Must hold, or be willing to obtain, appropriate DBS clearance

The school caters primarily for pupils with moderate learning difficulties, alongside additional needs including autism, speech, language and communication difficulties and behavioural needs. Pupils are taught in small classes with support from teachers and teaching assistants.
