We are looking to appoint a dynamic, motivated, enthusiastic, &forward-thinking Speech & Language Therapist to work within our Neurological Rehabilitation Unit
The NRU is a 12 bedded localspecialist rehabilitation unit that provides a neurological rehabilitationservice which enables patients with long term neurological conditions includingpatients with an acute injury or episode, to access rehabilitation that iscoordinated, timely & responsive to patient needs
You willwork within a multi professional team giving neurologicalrehabilitation specific advice & guidance to the wider MDT, & haveclinical responsibility to meeting patient outcomes
Weare looking for applications from suitable therapists who have experience ofproviding intervention for swallowing and/orcommunication difficulty withinan integrated multidisciplinary team
Youwill work closely with the MDT and provide supervision/support to other staff

As SLT you will:
Provideassessment & management of communication & swallowing disorders
Deviseevidence led therapy programmes for patients at a specialist level, with anemphasis on multidisciplinary working to achieve the best outcomes for ourpatients
Maintainhigh standards of clinical care to achieve the best outcomes for patients
Manage aclinical caseload with autonomy
Contributeto clinical leadership/supervision facilitating a culture oflearning/reflective practice
Havehigh level communication & excellent interpersonal skills to negotiate &establish collaborative partnerships with patients & professionals
Ensure compliance with clinical governance beingresponsible for ensuring Infection Control policy/procedures are followed

To provide support, education, and advice to more junior SLTs, nursing and AHP colleagues specifically in relation to inpatients with communication and swallowing difficulties and to ensure adequate access to the service is maintained, for this client group.
To follow and contribute to the development of departmental policies/guidelines and to participate in the development of innovations in service delivery taking account of Clinical Governance
