South Tynesideand Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust We have one permanent Band 5 Speech andLanguage Therapist role in our Childrens Speech and Language Therapy Team:

Due to an internal promotion, we are delighted tohave the opportunity to offer a full-time, permanent Band 5 Post that will suitnewly-qualified Therapists or Therapists keen to expand their experienceworking with children.

The Post will be predominantly based in Sunderlandalthough we work across South Tyneside and Sunderland as one integrated team.

Please apply if you are keen to develop your skillsworking with children across community and specialist settings who have a broadrange of SLCN, including children with SEND and complex additional needs. You may also have the opportunity to work withchildren with Developmental Language Disorder and Severe Speech SoundDisorders.

We are working with agencies and service usersacross systems to really try and improve the Service to children with SLCN andSEND. This includes working with ourFamily Hubs, mainstream and specialist education settings, local authority andother health partners as well as commissioners.

Main duties of the job

You will haveexperience of working with children with a range of speech, language andcommunication difficulties, and be able to assess, plan and provideintervention and therapy within a range of settings. You will have excellentinterpersonal skills and be committed to working in a multi-disciplinary way tofacilitate the best outcomes for children. You will be well-supported and bepart of a forward-thinking department that provides a range of specialistservices and is always striving to be innovative and put research into practiceto improve patient outcomes. Person Specification

Skills/Attributes/Knowledge

• Knowledge of the full range of childrens speech, language and communication problems.
• Excellent communication skills in all modalities.
• Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
• Organisational skills and well-developed time-management skills.
• Understanding of the principles of Clinical Audit R +D and evaluating service provision.
• Evidence of ability to plan and co-ordinate the work of others.

Qualifications

• Completion of pre-registration year RCSLT NQT competences signed-off - full clinical autonomy.

• Post-graduate paediatric Speech and Language Therapy clinical experience.
• Experience of treating or observing treatment of a range of Paediatric SLCN disorders.
• Experience of working with Children with additional needs.

• Provision of training.
