South Tynesideand Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust We have one permanent Band 5 Speech andLanguage Therapist role in our Childrens Speech and Language Therapy Team:
Due to an internal promotion, we are delighted tohave the opportunity to offer a full-time, permanent Band 5 Post that will suitnewly-qualified Therapists or Therapists keen to expand their experienceworking with children.
The Post will be predominantly based in Sunderlandalthough we work across South Tyneside and Sunderland as one integrated team.
Please apply if you are keen to develop your skillsworking with children across community and specialist settings who have a broadrange of SLCN, including children with SEND and complex additional needs. You may also have the opportunity to work withchildren with Developmental Language Disorder and Severe Speech SoundDisorders.
We are working with agencies and service usersacross systems to really try and improve the Service to children with SLCN andSEND. This includes working with ourFamily Hubs, mainstream and specialist education settings, local authority andother health partners as well as commissioners.

You will haveexperience of working with children with a range of speech, language andcommunication difficulties, and be able to assess, plan and provideintervention and therapy within a range of settings. You will have excellentinterpersonal skills and be committed to working in a multi-disciplinary way tofacilitate the best outcomes for children. You will be well-supported and bepart of a forward-thinking department that provides a range of specialistservices and is always striving to be innovative and put research into practiceto improve patient outcomes. Developing our team members in their career pathis the cornerstone of this. This will be an ideal opportunity for a Therapistlooking to develop their skills in this area who also has values that alignwith those of our organisation and is passionate about making a difference tochildren and young people. Our Childrens Speech and LanguageTherapy Team covers South Tyneside and Sunderland localities. There areexcellent links across the Team with joint supervision and sharing practicesessions.
Keyrequirements: Enthusiasmfor this client group, experience of working with children with SLCN, teamworker, ability to meet the transportrequirements of this Post.
