Job summary

Circle Health Group’s Circle Rehabilitation in Birmingham is seeking a Speech and Language Therapist to join the Rehabilitation department on a bank, as-and-when-required basis. The role supports busy periods with flexible shifts and cover for annual leave.

You will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centred care.

Qualifications

• BSc (Hons) or MSc in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
• HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist.
• Strong clinical reasoning, communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience working with communication and/or swallowing disorders.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of speech, language, communication and swallowing functions.
• Develop and deliver evidence‑based treatment plans tailored to patient goals.
• Collaborate with medical teams, nursing staff, dietitians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and psychologists to deliver coordinated, patient‑centred care.
• Educate patients, families and carers about therapy strategies, communication aids and safe swallowing practices.
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date clinical documentation in line with HCPC, RCSLT and organisational policies.
• Recommend and support the use of alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) tools and resources.

Speech and Language Therapist (Bank)

Circle Rehabilitation – Birmingham – Bank shifts – Salary up to £45.00 per hour (depending on level of experience, training and qualification).

Overview

Circle Rehabilitation is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals and clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country. We have an opportunity for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our team in the Rehabilitation department. This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis. You will supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff during annual leave or absence.

Duties Of This Role Include

• Conduct detailed assessments of speech, language, communication and swallowing functions using a variety of clinical tools and techniques.
• Develop and deliver evidence‑based treatment plans tailored to individual patient goals, including communication therapy, voice therapy and dysphagia management.
• Collaborate with medical teams, nursing staff, dietitians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and psychologists to deliver coordinated, patient‑centred care.
• Educate patients, families and carers about therapy strategies, communication aids and safe swallowing practices.
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date clinical documentation in line with HCPC, RCSLT and organisational policies.
