Responsible to: Clinical Lead

Working with: Multi-disciplinary team

Hours per week: 37.5 hours (or pro-rata) (term-time contract available)

Hourly rate: TBC

Annual leave: 10 weeks paid holiday (or pro-rata)

Qualifications Required: BSc. Hons in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent)

Training and Education: HCPC Registration. Knowledge of legislative framework for SALTs.

Main Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive speech and language therapy services in various settings including clinics, schools, and children’s centres.
  • Manage a caseload of individuals aged 0-25 with diverse needs, including neurological, sensory, and behavioral difficulties.
  • Develop and participate in creating training services, therapy programs, and professional development initiatives.

Clinical - Assessment and Treatment Planning

  • Prioritize and manage caseloads, conduct assessments, and develop treatment plans tailored to individual needs.

Clinical - Interventions and Treatments

  • Plan and implement individual and group therapy interventions, monitor effectiveness, and adapt as needed.

Clinical - Analytical / Judgmental Skills

  • Interpret assessment results accurately, set OT goals, and contribute to diagnoses and care plans.

Clinical - Communication

  • Communicate effectively with children, families, and professionals; provide reports and maintain accurate records.

Human Resources

  • Adhere to professional codes, participate in supervision, and contribute to team development and training.

Health, Safety, and Security

  • Maintain safe environments, conduct risk assessments, and ensure safe equipment use.

Policy and Service Development

  • Participate in policy development, clinical audits, and service improvement initiatives.
