Job description

Position: Speech and Language Therapist - Autism

Location: London/Greater London

Role: Permanent

Salary: £48,500 - 52,800 per annum (depending on experience) Plus London Weighting

Start: ASAP

Our client is excitedly expanding their multidisciplinary school team and is on the lookout for a highly specialist therapist.

The Role:

This is an exciting and valuable role, providing invaluable SaLT support to London schools. This is a split role providing two days of clinical work in schools and three days of leadership support.

Whilst delivering two days of clinical support, you will:

  1. Deliver specialised clinical therapy services, working with parents, carers, education staff, and multidisciplinary teams.
  2. Perform specialist assessments and develop therapy programmes using advanced clinical reasoning.
  3. Manage and adapt your caseload, schools, and provide consultation and training services related to your specialism.

On your three leadership days, you would:

  1. Provide specialised supervision for therapists across schools, understanding caseload requirements.
  2. Conduct onsite visits and review session plans and reports.
  3. Connect therapists to specialists, resources, and training sessions.
  4. Offer face-to-face supervision sessions and oversee clinical pathways.
  5. Plan and deliver training sessions for new starters and the wider team.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 6 years post-registration experience, with at least 2 years experience working in the specialist field of Autism.
  • Experience in multi-disciplinary working.
  • HCPC registered.
  • Training and experience in evidence-based approaches to intervention in Autism.
  • A track record of providing a highly specialist evidence-based service for Autistic children and young people.
  • Experience in clinical supervision, excellent communication skills, and the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
  • Experience in audit/data gathering for research.
  • Enthusiastic about sharing knowledge and adaptable to changing priorities.
