Overview

Speech and Language Therapist - Autism/ADHD Assessor at Evolve Psychology Services. Join a passionate, multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality, evidence-based autism and ADHD assessments through NHS-funded and private pathways. This role is within our Huddersfield Team and is a hybrid position with part-time and full-time options, requiring a minimum of three days per week. As a Specialist Neurodevelopmental Practitioner, you will contribute to comprehensive neurodevelopmental assessments, supporting timely and accurate diagnoses that lead to appropriate support and improved outcomes for families.

Main duties

In this role, you will contribute to high-quality, evidence-based neurodevelopmental assessments for children and young people. Duties include conducting structured observations via digital platforms, remote developmental history interviews with parents and carers, and actively participating in multidisciplinary team diagnostic discussions, with support from senior clinicians where required. You will deliver clear, compassionate feedback to families, ensuring that outcomes and next steps are communicated sensitively and effectively. You will produce accurate and detailed clinical reports, including diagnostic formulations, with the support of our smart tools to improve efficiency and consistency. You will be expected to work effectively to meet service KPIs, ensuring timely assessments and reports that contribute to positive outcomes for families.

Job responsibilities

The role includes the following responsibilities, and you will be supported by a strong multidisciplinary team:

• Face-to-face structured observations as part of the neurodevelopmental assessment process.
• Remote developmental history interviews with parents and carers via Zoom.
• Participation in peer MDT diagnostic discussions, supported by senior clinicians where needed.
• Delivering clear, compassionate feedback to families.
• Producing accurate clinical reports, including diagnostic formulations, with AI-assisted tools.
• Working efficiently to meet service KPIs.
• Providing clinical supervision where applicable.
• Ability to travel to a clinic base to conduct in-person assessments (hybrid role).

Qualifications and experience

• Minimum of 1 year’s professional registration with HCPC, NMC, GMC, or Social Work England.
• Registration types include HCPC Clinical Psychologist, Counselling Psychologist, Educational Psychologist, Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist; NMC Mental Health Nurse, Learning Disability Nurse, General Nurse, Children’s Nurse; GMC Medical Practitioner; Social Worker (Social Work England).
• Minimum of 1 year experience conducting diagnostic assessments for autism and/or ADHD in children and young people.
• Strong understanding of differential diagnosis in neurodevelopmental presentations.
• In-depth knowledge of DSM-5 criteria for autism and ADHD.
• Training and experience in diagnostic tools such as ADOS-2, ADI-R, etc.
• Effective time management and caseload organisation skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and participate in collaborative diagnostic discussions.
• Highly developed written language skills for high-quality clinical reports.
• Excellent communication with children, young people, and families, ensuring compassionate, clear, and professional interactions.
• Must be eligible to work in the UK.

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year’s experience conducting diagnostic assessments for autism and/or ADHD in children and young people.

Qualifications
