Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist - Brent Early Years Team - 1.0 w.t.e

Main duties of the job
Your role would include:
- Assessing children and young people (CYP) with speech, language, and communication needs, including DLD, ASD, speech, and selective mutism.
- Working directly with children in groups and individually, providing advice and strategies to school staff and parents.
- Liaising with parents and other professionals.
- Providing training for parents and nursery staff.

Person Specification
Education/Qualification
- Degree and Licence to Practise from the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists.
- Current registered membership of HCPC and RCSLT.
Experience
- Working with children in clinics and/or school-based settings.
- Training others.
- Experience with Adult-Child Interaction (ACI).
- Working with multicultural client groups.
Skills & Knowledge
- Aware of the needs of parents, teachers, and others.
- Highly developed auditory and perceptual assessment skills.
- Manual dexterity for signing and assessments.
- Knowledge of child development milestones.
- Understanding of assessments and interventions for speech, language, and communication impairments.
- Knowledge of education practice, policy, and the national curriculum.
- Awareness of policies, procedures, and audit principles.
- Understanding of professional standards and other agencies' roles.
- Ability to assess speech, language, and communication skills using formal and informal tools.

Salary: £29,970 to £36,483 per annum, inclusive of HCAS.
