Are you an enthusiastic speech and language therapist passionate about supporting children's speech, language, and communication needs? Are you looking for a post in the beautiful South Wales valleys? Then this may be the job for you!
We are delighted to offer this 1-year fixed-term band 5 Speech and Language Therapist post.
We are seeking a therapist who works well as part of a team, has excellent communication skills, and enjoys working collaboratively with others.
You will demonstrate the Health Board values of listening, learning, and improving, treating everyone with respect, and working together as one team.
You will ensure high-quality Speech and Language Therapy services to children with various communication difficulties referred to the service. Responsibilities include assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and advice for children with communication difficulties associated with diagnoses such as ASD, syndromes, physical disabilities, or learning difficulties. You will liaise with other professionals, including health visitors, consultants, allied health professionals, and education staff.
Our team is friendly and compassionate, committed to supporting staff well-being, supervision, and professional development. The children's SLT service has clinical specialists available for support and second opinions, and staff are supported by a line management structure, Paediatric Team Leads, and an Admin Team. Clinics are held at various locations across the Health Board, so you may be asked to work in any of them.
This is a fixed-term/secondment position for 12 months to meet service needs. If applying as a secondment, you must obtain permission from your current line manager.
Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is part of NHS Wales, providing primary, secondary, and community health and wellbeing services to around 450,000 residents in Bridgend, Merthyr Tydfil, and Rhondda Cynon Taf.
