An innovative healthcare provider is seeking a Highly Specialist Speech & Language Therapist to join their multi-disciplinary team in Perth. This role focuses on delivering intensive support to families with complex needs, particularly young people aged 12-18. Band 7, 18.5 Hours
You will work within REACH, a multi-disciplinary social work team in Perth and Kinross, providing intensive support to families with complex needs, where there is a likelihood of the young person (aged 12-18) being accommodated away from home. Your responsibilities will include assessing communication needs of young people and supporting staff to optimize interactions for positive outcomes.
Your role will also involve training and coaching REACH team members to be aware of Speech Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) and strategies to support communication.
You should have extensive skills, knowledge, and experience working with secondary school-aged children, particularly supporting children with complex needs across various educational placements. Knowledge and experience of neurodevelopmental communication conditions are essential, and understanding of social work processes and systems is desirable.
This role involves collaborative work with partners in other agencies. You will join a supportive team based in Perth, where professional development is encouraged. Willingness to travel across Perth and Kinross is required.
