The Role
Job Title: Speech and Language Therapist
Location: Acorn Park School – Norfolk NR16 2HU
Salary: Up to £53,200 pro rata DOE
Please note – basic grade SALT offers from £33,000+, Specialist from £39,500+ & Highly specialist from £48,000+
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent (Term time only, or flexibility around full-time contract can be discussed based on your personal circumstances)
Essential: Full valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle

Responsibilities
- Deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent or have SEMH needs.
- Work within the standards provided in the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working, guiding practice in an education setting and aligning with professional requirements.
- Hold a Speech and Language Therapy caseload with support from a designated clinical supervisor and site lead.
- Contribute to staff training and ongoing consultation as required.
- Collaborate with the education team to support students and contribute to the growth of apprentices, students and therapy assistants.
Essential Criteria
- Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy
- HCPC registered
- 1–2 years experience as a fully registered member of the RCSLT in a similar setting
- Experience engaging with individuals with complex and diverse communication profiles
- Knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma-informed practice
- Experience of multidisciplinary working in varied settings
- Experience communicating with families/relatives and carers
- Interest in developing knowledge and skills across SaLT practice
- Good relationship-building, analytical and judgment skills
- Strong communication skills (oral and written); good time management and organizational skills
- Competence in core SaLT practices and understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards
- Knowledge of SaLT assessment tools, intervention types and how to formulate support plans
- Knowledge of legislation and its implications for clinical practice and professional management
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
- Willingness to attend training and work towards further qualifications relevant to the client group
- Full valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
