A mental health service organization in Manchester is seeking an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join their team. This role involves providing specialist therapy within a multidisciplinary team setting, focusing on vulnerable young people with complex needs. An exciting opportunity has arisen within-in patient CAMHS services at GMMH.
We are looking for an experienced, passionate and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist to join the wider Mental Health Speech Therapy team and work across our General Adolescent Unit and Male Forensic Service.
This varied and rewarding role will require you to have highly specialist skills and the ability to work autonomously, within an MDT and in a consultative role with vulnerable young people, some of whom may have behaviours that challenge.
The successful applicant will be a core member of the MDTs across the teams and will be integral in developing the Speech and Language Therapy pathways. This will be the first time that a Speech Therapist has been embedded in the MDTs and the successful candidate will be supported by the wider MDT and Speech Therapy team to establish the role and maximise outcomes for Young People.
The successful candidate will have regular meetings and supervision within both the immediate MDT and the wider Speech Therapy Team.
To provide highly specialist Speech and Language Therapy to service users (some of whom may present with very high risk behaviours) and colleagues, across inpatient services: -
We have 2 wards based at Junction 17 and The Gardener Unit which comprise of A Male Adolescent Forensic Service, and a CAMHS General Acute Units (GAU) both support 13 - 18 years olds.
