Job Details

Job Title: Speech and Language Therapist

Location: Park School Oxfordshire OX7 5QH

Salary: Up to £53,200 pro rata (dependent on experience)

*Please note: basic grade SALT offers from £33,000+, Specialist from £39,500+ & Highly specialist from £48,000+*

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday 08:30am - 16:30pm

Contract: Fixed Term 00 12 Months

Essential: Full valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle

The Role

We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our in-house clinical team at Park School. You will deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent or have SEMH needs. You will work within the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working, guiding your practice within an education setting and aligning with governing and professional bodies. You will hold a Speech and Language therapy caseload with support from your designated clinical supervisor and site lead, and contribute to staff training and consultation as required. This post would suit a resilient, creative and enthusiastic individual.

Park School 0OX7 5QH Park School forms part of our Acorn Education brand and is an independent specialist day school for children and young people aged 7–18.

Essential Criteria
  • Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy
  • HCPC registered
  • Experience in engaging with individuals with complex and diverse communication profiles
  • Knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma-informed practice
  • Experience of multidisciplinary working
  • Experience of communicating with/working with families and carers
  • Interest in developing knowledge and skills across SaLT practice
  • Good relationship building, analytical and judgmental skills
  • Good communication (oral and written) and time management
  • Competent in core areas of SaLT practice and understanding of RCSLT standards
  • Knowledge of SaLT assessment tools, intervention types and how to formulate support plans
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation for clinical practice and client groups
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Willingness to attend training and pursue further qualifications
  • Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
Desirable
  • Understanding of sensory and motor differences impacting communication
  • Evidence of understanding arousal and communication relationships
