About the Service

The Enhanced Support And Liaison Service (ESLS) is a newly formed service that supports adults with learning disabilities and/or autistic adults who are:

  • at risk of placement breakdown
  • at risk of hospital admission
  • in need of support to access mainstream mental health services
Role Overview

This post is suitable for a Speech and Language Therapist who enjoys diverse clinical work and can work well within a team as well as autonomously. It offers an excellent opportunity for skill consolidation across our three service pathways and is ideal for newly qualified therapists interested in a structured Band 5-6 development post.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing evidence-based care for service users with learning disabilities and/or autism who have communication needs and dysphagia.

You will provide professional advice and support across the three pathways within ESLS:

  • Community Liaison Pathways
  • Inpatient/discharge Pathway
  • Enhanced and intensive community intervention & support

ESLS works with teams and services across the trust to provide support and intervention for those in mental health inpatient services, at risk of admission, or at risk of placement breakdown. This support includes liaison, advice, training, and consultation with trust services and wider system partners such as the Integrated Care Board (ICB), Lincolnshire County Council, United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust, Police, and voluntary/third sector organizations.
