We are looking for friendly, innovative and enthusiastic speech and language therapists to join the Socrates Multidisciplinary Assessment and Response Team (SMART) undertaking neurodevelopmental assessment with children and young adults.
This is an established team that specialises in undertaking assessments with children and young adults with complex presentations. This includes specialist assessments for:
The team is committed to putting the best interests of the child/young adult first and in gaining a better understanding of their needs through comprehensive assessment, diagnosis (if appropriate) and developing needs led plans. The team includes a range of experienced professionals including clinical psychologists, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and an educational practitioner. We also undertake some assessments jointly with a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. The team is currently supported by assistant psychologists.
We are looking for speech and language therapists who have a proactive and positive attitude, excellent written and verbal communication skills, organisational and time management skills and who can work effectively as part of a team.
We are keen to hear from experienced speech and language therapists who are interested in working in an employed role. The role would involve supporting and supervising another speech and language therapist in the team. Our main clinic days are Mondays and Thursdays though there may be opportunity to do some additional work on other days. Our assessments are undertaken face to face though some aspects such as developmental histories or feedback appointments may take place online if this is requested by the family.
