Job summary

Momenta Connect is seeking a Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist in Sussex. The role combines school-based therapy with clinic-based and occasional remote work, focusing on children with diverse communication needs. You will deliver direct therapy, assess and consult, and contribute to EHCP plans with a collaborative team.

The role offers flexible 37.5 hours weekly, permanent contract, and opportunities for development, wellbeing support, and a supportive multi-disciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• Paediatric and school-based experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) processes is desirable.
• Experience supporting children with SEND and SEMH needs is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assess children and young people with SEND and related needs.
• Plan and deliver evidence-based, individualised interventions.
• Contribute to EHCP assessments, reports and reviews.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents and multidisciplinary colleagues.

Salary:

Up to £50,000 FTE, dependent on experience

Hours:

37.5 hours per week, with flexible working across five days, Monday to Friday

Contract:

Permanent, with 52-week, summer contract and part-time options available. The summer contract offers five weeks off during the summer break plus 22 days' annual leave. Momenta Connect is proud to be named Investors Market Entrant of the Year 2026.

About the role

You’ll work mainly in school settings with some clinic-based and remote opportunities where appropriate. Supporting children and young people with a range of communication and developmental needs, you’ll combine direct therapy with assessment, consultation and practical strategies that make a difference beyond the therapy session.

In this role, you’ll:

• Assess children and young people with SEND, autism, developmental language needs, social communication differences, SEMH needs and more complex profiles.
• Plan and deliver evidence-based, individualised interventions, including direct therapy, advice and consultation.
• Contribute to EHCP assessments, reports and outcome reviews.
• Work closely with teachers, parents, carers, SENCOs and multidisciplinary colleagues to embed communication support throughout the school day.
• Review progress, adapt intervention plans and contribute to joined-up support for children with more complex needs.

What you’ll need

• BSc or MSc in Speech and Language Therapy
• HCPC registration
• Experience in paediatric, school-based or EHCP-focused settings
• It would be great if you also bring Confidence supporting children and young people with complex communication, SEMH or behavioural needs
• Experience completing assessments for Education, Health and Care Plans
• Specialist CPD, training or trauma-informed practice experience
