Job summary

Liaise East Anglia is seeking a compassionate Speech and Language Therapist to join their Specialist Support Team in the UK. You will manage a caseload of adults with learning disabilities and autism, delivering person-centred interventions to improve communication and swallowing safety.

We offer a supportive MDT environment, opportunities for professional development and ongoing supervision. Travel between services is required; HCPC registration and RCSLT membership are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
• HCPC registration.

• Experience with adults with learning disabilities/autism.
• Experience assessing and managing communication and dysphagia.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload of adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs.

• Work collaboratively with families, support staff, GPs, social workers and external professionals.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and outcome measures.
• Contribute to service development, audits and continuous quality improvement.
• Support the development of colleagues by providing specialist advice and training.

Essential

What we are looking for:

• Degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
• HCPC registration.
• Membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
• Experience working with adults with learning disabilities and/or autism.
• Experience assessing and managing communication needs and dysphagia.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable

• Experience using Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).
• Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS).
• Experience delivering training to colleagues and support teams.
• Experience contributing to service development or clinical audits.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between services.
