As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will join part of the multidisciplinary Health and Therapy Team to provide specialist support to children and young people with vision impairment and complex needs. This varied and exciting role will guarantee that no two days are the same! You will be expected to work both in 1-1 and group sessions with the young people we support and delegate therapeutic work to the Speech and Language Assistant. You will also have the opportunity to train and utilise our skilled team of Enablers to maximise impact and achieve the best outcomes.
About you
You are a qualified and HCPC-registered Speech and Language Therapist, holding a recognised national therapy qualification at diploma or degree level. You are committed to your professional development, with a proven track record of ongoing CPD and a reflective approach to practice.
You will have experience of working in multi-professional teams and bring a collaborative and person-centred ethos to your work. You will have strong knowledge of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) strategies and apply imaginative, evidence-based techniques to support young people with speech, language and communication needs.
You possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and are confident leading sessions with individuals, small groups, or whole classes. Your ability to plan, call and manage meetings, alongside your competent IT skills, supports your effectiveness in both clinical and educational settings.
You are tactful, diplomatic, and always open to learning new approaches. You are literate, numerate, and flexible in your working hours to meet the needs of the role.
Desirably, you may also hold additional qualifications or experience in areas such as Sensory Integration, Makaton, or Dysphagia, further enhancing your ability to meet diverse clinical needs.

21 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
