Pulse has recently partnered with one of the UK’s specialist providers of diagnostic and healthcare solutions. We are currently looking for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist, who can provide overall support for the clinical leadership of the service. This post is based in Harlow, which is easily accessible via public transport.

About the role:

As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will work in a clinical and service development capacity to ensure the service to patients is planned, delivered, and evaluated in line with evidence-based practice. Working closely with the multidisciplinary team to help create and maintain a robust service.

Your main responsibilities as a Speech and Language Therapist:

  • Create a safe, professional, and supportive environment where clients, families, and colleagues feel empowered to succeed.
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with clients and their families.
  • Complete all documentation, reporting requirements, and training accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and feeding-swallowing disorders, primarily in the paediatric population, with proper documentation.
  • Possess general knowledge of child development to assess and refer families to other disciplines when appropriate.
  • Assess a client’s communication and/or feeding/swallowing skills using standardized tools and clinical observation to identify impairments and determine a treatment plan.

What we are looking for in a Speech and Language Therapist:

  • Minimum qualifications include a Master of Arts or Applied Science in Speech-Language Therapy, Communication Disorders, or equivalent from an accredited university.
  • License to practice from the UK Chartered Society for Physiotherapy.
  • Must have and maintain ASHA CCC credentials.
  • Strong clinical experience – at least 2 years post-graduate experience, preferably in a paediatric setting with exposure to children and/or young adults with complex disabilities.
  • Enhanced DBS check.
  • CPR and First Aid certificates.
