Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to expand the team at the Enfield Communication Advisory Support Service (ECASS). We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our team. This role is open to both newly qualified and experienced therapists. Pay will be awarded at the Local Authority equivalent of a Band 6 NHS salary, depending on experience.

Full clinical supervision will be provided, along with opportunities for further professional development. The role involves working alongside a multi-professional team within the Local Authority and NHS Health Partners.

The post holder will be part of the extended ECASS multi-professional team working in Additional Resource Provisions, Units, and Mainstream Primary/Secondary schools. The aims of ECASS are to:

  • Improve speech, language, and communication provision for pupils by providing ARP/Unit and whole-school training, enhancing pupils' school experience, and offering a range of communication tools.
Main duties of the job
  • Deliver consistent messages supporting early speech, language, and communication development through work programmes and resources, emphasizing that communication is everyone's business.
  • Promote early intervention for speech, language, and communication needs across Enfield schools, ensuring children and young people access communication-friendly environments and practitioners are confident in facilitating communication. Support identification of SLCN and provide parents and carers with appropriate information and resources.
  • Offer practical strategies and assessments to support children and young people in Local Authority ARPs and Units.
  • Support settings to meet the needs of children with speech, language, and communication needs, including those with emerging or less complex needs, as well as long-term developmental concerns and children at a statutory level.
  • Provide ARPs and Units with supervision models and ongoing professional development for staff.
