Job description
Overview

Greenwich Children\'s Integrated Therapies Service are looking to appoint due to increased interest in our services. This is an opportunity for newly qualified or Band 5 Speech and Language Therapists with experience to join the School Years Team. You will have the opportunity to work with school-age children and young people with a range of speech, language and communication needs, providing assessment, advice and intervention within a supportive team of therapists and assistants.

Responsibilities
  • Provide assessment and intervention for children with a range of SLCN in settings including schools, nurseries and health centres.
  • Work as part of an integrated team with teachers and outreach services supporting children with communication difficulties and their families.
  • Be involved in service development projects, with current examples including: The Bilingualism Quality Improvement Project and The Developmental Language Disorder working group.
Support and Development
  • Regular 1:1 supervision and group supervision, peer support and access to a comprehensive preceptorship programme.
  • Access to admin, managerial and clinical support; CPD is supported and development of clinical interests is encouraged.
  • Opportunity for professional development and potential progression within the Service (many Band 5 therapists progress to Band 6 roles).

The Greenwich Children\'s Integrated Therapies service comprises Speech and Language Therapy, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy teams, delivering services to Early Years, School Years and Special Schools. The service operates within Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust and collaborates with the wider NHS, local councils and voluntary sector partners. Our aim is to improve lives by providing the best possible care to patients and their families.
