Job Description:

Pulse has recently partnered with one of the UK’s specialist providers of diagnostic and healthcare solutions. We are currently looking for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist, who can provide support for the clinical leadership of the service. This post is based in Bedford, which is accessible via public transport.

About the role:

As a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will work in a clinical and service development capacity to ensure the service to patients is planned, delivered, and evaluated in line with evidence-based practice.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialist speech and language therapy to appropriate adults across general medical wards. Identify, assess, and diagnose communication/swallowing impairments and develop evidence-based therapy plans.
  • Manage cases and provide specialist Speech & Language Therapy using best practice models to assess needs, and offer care planning, therapy, advice, and support.
  • Support and train ward-based teams and the wider SLT team.
  • Participate in the Videofluoroscopy service after completing MBSImP competencies, with support from other MBSImP competent therapists.
  • Supervise support practitioners and volunteers.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Speech and Language Therapist
  • Registered with the HCPC
