Job summary

The Levels School is an independent specialist day school providing high-quality education and exemplary pastoral care for students with dyslexia and related difficulties. We are seeking a Speech and Language Therapist to support our students and work under the Head of Therapy.

You will collaborate with other SLTs, OT, SENCo and teachers to deliver therapy, run social skills groups, and contribute to outreach work across local schools and FE colleges.

Qualifications

• Be a registered Speech and Language Therapist with the RCSLT and HCPC.
• Experience or knowledge of dyslexia and co-occurring difficulties and autistic spectrum condition.
• Ideal: experience running social communication groups.

Responsibilities

• Deliver weekly therapy sessions for children on caseload.
• Run social skills groups and attend annual reviews.
• Carry out assessments and write reports.

As a Speech and Language Therapist at The Levels School, you will be working under the direction of the Head of Therapy, and alongside other Speech and Language and Occupational Therapists, the SENCo and classroom teachers in delivering social skills sessions, and direct and indirect therapy.

The Levels Therapy is the latest addition to the Levels School. The Levels Therapy services aim to provide therapy services across a wide range of therapy disciplines within both an educational and private setting. It is widely acknowledged that SEN support is a growing national requirement for students to achieve their full potential. The Levels Therapy has been established to extend our offering beyond our own students at the Levels School. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be part of the team completing outreach work in local independent schools and FE colleges.

The role of Speech and Language Therapist is offered on a full time, permanent contract, TTO or AYR. We are looking to appoint a flexible, adaptable, and dedicated individual with experience in working with pupils with SpLD and some SEMH difficulties as a result of their barriers to learning.

Main Responsibilities

As part of your role, you will be responsible for delivering the weekly therapy sessions for children on your caseload, running social skills groups, attending annual reviews, carrying out assessments, and writing reports.

The successful candidate will need to be motivated and enthusiastic. You will be an integral member of The Levels School team.

Key skills and requirements:

• To be a registered Speech and Language Therapist with the RCSLT and HCPC
• Experience or knowledge of dyslexia and co-occurring difficulties and autistic spectrum condition
• Ideally have some experience of running social communication groups
• Have the ability to work as an integral member of a team that puts the pupils learning and wellbeing at the center
