Speech and Language Teaching Assistant
Location: Primary School, Lambeth
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-time, Term-time only

Are you passionate about helping children communicate, express themselves, and reach their full potential?

Responsibilities
  • Support children with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN) across the school.
  • Work closely with the Speech and Language Therapist (SALT), SENCo, and class teachers to deliver tailored interventions.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support, helping pupils to develop confidence in speaking, listening, and social interaction.
  • Use creative and engaging strategies to make learning accessible and enjoyable.
  • Monitor progress and contribute to planning and review meetings.
Qualifications
  • Experience supporting children with SLCN or a strong interest in speech and language development.
  • Excellent communication skills and a patient, encouraging approach.
  • The ability to build positive, nurturing relationships with pupils.
  • A background in education, psychology, speech therapy, or SEN (desirable but not essential).
  • A willingness to learn and take direction from professionals.
