Speech and Language Specialist Teaching Assistant

Pay Rate: Competitive, dependent on experience

Pay Rate: £13.75-£14.50 per hour (depending on experience)

Are you a passionate and experienced Teaching Assistant with a specialism in Speech and Language support? A nurturing primary school in Halewood is seeking a dedicated individual to join their team and provide targeted support to pupils with communication needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting impact on children’s development and learning outcomes.

The Role:
  • Full-time position supporting pupils with speech, language and communication needs
  • Work closely with the SENCO and external specialists to deliver tailored interventions
  • Support children across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, with a focus on 1:1 and small group work
  • Help pupils develop confidence, expressive language, and social interaction skills
  • Monitor progress and contribute to individual learning plans
The Ideal Candidate Will:
  • Have experience supporting children with speech and language difficulties
  • Be confident delivering structured interventions and using visual aids or Makaton (desirable)
  • Demonstrate a patient, empathetic and encouraging approach
  • Be comfortable working across different age groups and adapting strategies accordingly
  • Hold a relevant TA qualification or training in speech and language support (e.g. ELKLAN)
