Job summary

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant for Specimen Reception in Liverpool. You will primarily receive and prepare potentially hazardous specimens and ensure accurate labeling and demographics in the LIMS.

You will identify urgent requests, liaise with staff across departments, and provide guidance on specimen types and test turnaround times. You will also operate automated detection systems and pre-analytical equipment in line with SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Receipt and preparation of potentially hazardous specimens
• Use of LIMS to enter patient and sample demographics accurately
• Identify urgent and priority requests and process them promptly
• Load and operate automated detection systems and pre-analytical equipment per SOPs
