Job summary

BBF Limited in Hull is seeking a Specifications Technologist to join our technical team. You will create, manage and update product specifications using web-based retailer systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will review artwork, ensure labeling accuracy, and document procedures to meet internal and customer compliance. We value meticulous attention to detail and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of writing specifications for retailers in a food manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of legal labelling legislation and application.
• Good level of computer literacy and experience using web-based customer specification systems.
• High level of detail.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up approval for external customer specifications or relevant technical information in accordance with customer requirements.
• Review copy artwork in line with updated customer technical and labelling policies, including all regulatory changes that will impact on the accuracy of the pack information and labelling.
• Procedures correctly documented to ensure that internal and customer compliance are met, following the relevant Process Development procedures.
• Reviewing raw material specification content to develop “Gold Standard” specifications for each raw material to improve compliance.
• Validation of specifications and processes to identify synergies and scope for consolidation through a continuous improvement process.
