Job summary

Greencore Spalding is seeking a Specifications Technologist on a fixed-term contract of 6 months. You will own finished product specs for retailers, manage retailer systems and ensure data accuracy, legality and consistency across packaging and documentation.

In a site-based role with hybrid options, you will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support audits, improve processes and maintain robust document control while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and organized in specifications and artwork.
• Good understanding of retailer specifications, artwork and labeling rules.
• Ability to manage critical paths and multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
• Comfort with retailer specification systems and technical data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Complete finished product specifications and artwork on time with accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate with raw materials, packaging and NPD to reflect current specs and legal rules.
• Manage retailer online systems and keep specifications up to date and compliant.
• Support audits and customer visits with accurate spec and artwork data; log improvements.
• Maintain document control with proper filing and version control.
• Communicate with internal teams and customers, flagging missing or incorrect information.
• Work safely, follow legislation and contribute to health and safety improvements.

What you’ll be doing

In this busy and dynamic role as a Specifications Technologist, you will be responsible for completing finished product specifications for retailers and managing the retailer systems and processes used to generate finished product packaging. You will ensure accuracy, compliance, and consistency across all specifications, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to maintain high standards and support business operations.

Role Accountabilities

• Complete finished product specifications and artwork on time, ensuring all technical, legal and quality data is accurate and right first time
• Work closely with raw materials, packaging and NPD teams to ensure specifications reflect current materials, legal requirements and retailer standards
• Manage retailer online systems and specification housekeeping, maintaining accuracy, compliance and critical path delivery
• Support audits and customer visits by providing accurate specification and artwork information, reporting non-conformances and identifying improvements
• Maintain robust document control, ensuring confidentiality, accurate filing and clear version control of specifications and artwork
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and customers, escalating missing or inaccurate information promptly
• Operate safely, comply with legislation, report hazards and contribute to continuous improvement in health, safety and the working environment
