Job summary

Greencore Group plc, a major UK food manufacturing leader, is seeking a Specification Technologist to join our Worksop site. You will develop and approve external specifications and ensure regulatory compliance across labelling and packaging information.

You will review artwork, maintain current customer policies, and document procedures to support internal and customer compliance while promoting continuous improvement in specification quality and supplier materials.

Qualifications

• Experience writing specifications for retailers in food manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of legal labelling legislation and application
• Experience with retailer web-based specification systems

Responsibilities

• Set up approval for external specifications and relevant technical information per customer requirements
• Review copy artwork in line with customer policies and regulatory changes
• Document procedures to ensure internal and customer compliance and continuous improvement
• Review raw material specifications to create gold standard specs for compliance
• Validate specifications and processes to identify synergies and scope for consolidation while complying with Health, Safety and Environment policies

Job description

Set up approval for external specifications and relevant technical information in accordance with customer requirements Review copy artwork, in line with updated customer technical and labelling policies, and include all regulatory changes that will impact on the accuracy of the pack information and labelling Document procedures to ensure that internal and customer compliance is met, and the relevant process development practices are adopted Reviewing raw material specification content to develop "gold standard" specifications for each raw material to improve compliance Validation of specifications and processes to identify synergies and scope for consolidation through a continuous improvement process Operate in compliance with Health Safety and Environment policy to ensure that the working environment remains safe for all colleagues

Ideally educated to HND level or equivalent professional qualification Holds a level 2 food hygiene and a level 2 health and safety certification Experience working with computers and experienced in using web-based customer specification systems Knowledge and experience of writing specifications for retailers in food manufacturing environment Knowledge of legal labelling legislation and application Knowledge and experience of variety of retailer own web-based systems
