A leading global agri-food company in London is seeking a Specifications Technologist. You will manage specifications and quality assurance processes to ensure product compliance and safety. The ideal candidate has a degree in Food Science and experience in food manufacturing. This role is fully on-site and offers a salary of up to £35k DOE.

We are looking for a Specifications Technologist to join our thriving business !

Factory based: Greenford

Working Hours: fully on-site, Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm

Location: Greenford

Salary: upto £35k DOE

As a Specifications Technologist, you will be at the forefront of supporting our commitment to technical excellence. You will manage customer and supplier specifications, quality assurance standards, and artwork approvals to guarantee that our products are safe, legal, and compliant with ethical and quality standards. Collaborating with diverse teams, you will develop gold standard specifications, oversee artwork approval processes, and document standard operating procedures. Your proactive engagement will be crucial in driving continuous improvement and reducing waste across our operations.

Qualifications

Specifications Technologist requirements:

• Educated to Degree Level in a Food Science or similar subject area
  
  

Work Experience

• Experience in fresh produce or food manufacturing
• Experience of using retailer specification portals to create product specifications as part of NPD and EPD processes
• Experience of working alongside NPD as part of new product launch processes.
• Good understanding of key legislation, covering trading standards, labelling law and marketing standards for fresh produce.
• Strong communication skills developed from working directly within a demanding industry and business.
• Experience of working directly with retail customers is preferable
• Advanced abilities using the Microsoft package
• Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, communication skills
• Ability to read, analyse, and interpret current technical legislation, professional journals, and customer technical procedures.
