Job summary

Refresco UK is seeking a Customer Specification Technologist on a 6-month fixed term contract in Kegworth. You will drive updates to retailer product specifications and artwork to meet DRS requirements and customer expectations.

You will work closely with Technical, NPD and Commercial teams to ensure data accuracy, timely delivery and compliance with labelling legislation across major UK retailer platforms.

Qualifications

• Experience with major retailer specification platforms and web-based customer systems.
• Proven experience managing retailer specifications within a food or beverage manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of food labelling legislation and customer labelling policies.
• Experience reviewing and approving product artwork.
• Understanding of customer product lifecycle management processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage retailer specifications, ensuring DRS requirements and legislative changes are reflected accurately.
• Review and approve artwork to ensure compliance with pack copy and labelling legislation.
• Liaise with customers and their Technical Service Providers to resolve specification and artwork queries.
• Progress specifications through retailer systems and ensure products are approved and active in launch timelines.
• Work with Technical, NPD and Commercial teams to keep specification data accurate and up to date.
• Support compliance activities by maintaining high data integrity and customer service standards.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Refresco UK as a Customer Specification Technologist on a 6-month Fixed Term Contract. Reporting to the Specification & Artwork Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring retailer specifications are updated and compliant with the requirements of the Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) ahead of its implementation. Working closely with Technical, NPD, Commercial and customer teams, you will help ensure product specifications and artwork are accurate, compliant and delivered on time.

About The Role

As Customer Specification Technologist, you will support a key business project focused on updating retailer product specifications in preparation for the Deposit Return Scheme (DRS). You will be responsible for ensuring customer specifications, pack copy and artwork remain compliant with customer requirements, food labelling legislation and upcoming regulatory changes.

This role requires a highly organised individual with extensive experience working with major UK retailer specification systems and the ability to manage multiple products, stakeholders and deadlines whilst maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing retailer customer specifications, ensuring DRS requirements and legislative changes are accurately reflected.
• Reviewing and approving artwork to ensure compliance with pack copy, labelling legislation and customer standards.
• Liaising with customers and their Technical Service Providers (TSPs) to resolve specification and artwork queries.
• Progressing specifications through retailer systems and ensuring products are approved and active in line with launch timelines.
• Working closely with Technical, NPD and Commercial teams to ensure specification data is accurate and up to date.
• Supporting compliance activities by maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, data integrity and customer service.

About You

The successful candidate will be an experienced Customer Specification Technologist with a strong understanding of retailer specification systems, food labelling legislation and artwork approval processes.

You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, be highly organised and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

We are looking for someone with:

• Experience working with major retailer specification platforms and web-based customer systems.
• Proven experience managing retailer customer specifications within a food or beverage manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of food labelling legislation and customer labelling policies.
• Experience reviewing and approving product artwork.
• Understanding of customer product lifecycle management processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy of data input.
• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills and a positive, proactive approach.

Experience within the soft drinks category, HACCP Level 3 certification and the ability to interpret microbiological and nutritional data would be advantageous.
