Specification Technologist
Location: UK Manufacturing Site, East Midlands
Type: Full-time, Permanent
Reports to: Compliance Manager

Join the team to manage and maintain product specifications across raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods. This role ensures compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards to support efficient production and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Specification Management: Develop and maintain accurate product specifications aligned with internal policies and external standards.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with NPD, Process Development, Purchasing, and suppliers to define and maintain Gold Standard specs.
  • Database Oversight: Update and manage specification data in relevant systems.
  • Supplier Evaluation: Review and challenge supplier specifications for raw materials and packaging.
  • Nutritional Compliance: Oversee nutritional testing and ensure data meets required standards.
  • Documentation: Create Mini Specifications and Quality Attribute Sheets to support quality control.
  • Issue Resolution: Support resolution of spec-related issues with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Regulatory Awareness: Stay current with industry regulations and best practices.


Requirements:

  • Experience in food manufacturing or FMCG preferred.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and specification systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and data management tools.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Proactive and collaborative approach to quality assurance.
