Role Overview:

The Specifications Technologist ensures product and packaging safety and legal compliance by managing specifications for raw materials, finished products, packaging, labels, and related documents. Reports to the Specification Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create, manage, and maintain specifications for all products and ingredients used by Taiko.
  • Manage customer-specific websites and databases, including policy updates and questionnaires.
  • Facilitate packaging artwork and label creation, ensuring legality and accuracy.
  • Maintain approved label and ingredient databases.
  • Collaborate with NPD technologists on new product development.
  • Conduct supplier and ingredient risk assessments and maintain related registers.
  • Support allergen management, HACCP, and BRC compliance systems.
  • Ensure annual traceability for seafood, meat, and packaging suppliers.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Strong customer focus and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Good English comprehension, both written and spoken.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient computer skills, including website management.
