Specification Technologist
  • Location: North Somerset
  • Job Type: Full-time

Reed Food & FMCG partner with a leading food manufacturing company specialising in flavourings and seasonings, dedicated to producing high-quality products for the UK and European markets. My client is looking for a Specification Technologist to join their team, previous specification experience in the Food Industry is desirable but not essential.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Manage the site specifications system, including its continuous development, maintenance, and improvement.
  • Handle the entire process from raw material and supplier assessment through to finished products and customer enquiries, ensuring legal and customer technical compliance.
  • Maintain company and customer specifications and other associated technical documentation to ensure compliance.
  • Manage data input on customer web portals and ensure the accuracy of recipes and raw materials in line with agreed specifications.
  • Conduct food safety assessments of raw materials and food products to ensure they are safe and legally compliant.
  • Perform supplier and raw material integrity assessments and support ethical and sustainability assessments of the supply chain.
  • Maintain accurate data within the company database and manage time effectively to coordinate and prioritise personal workload.
  • Assist with raw material and supplier approval as required and support internal and customer audits in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with customers and other departments to ensure key information is delivered in a timely manner.
