Job Title: Area Technical Sales Manager - Roofing and Waterproofing
Industry Sector: New Build, Roofing Waterproofing, Single Ply, Waterproof Membranes, Bitumen Membranes, Structural Waterproofing, Cold Liquid Applied Systems, Green Roofs, Concrete Repairs, Damp Roofing Repairs, Local Authorities, Housing Associations, Building Surveyors, Building Owners, Roofing Contractors, Main Contractors, Architectural Practices, Field Sales, Technical Sales, Specification, Specification Sales, Sales Manager, Sales Executive, Sales Representative
Area to be covered: Greater Yorkshire

The role of the Specification Sales Manager - Roofing & Waterproofing systems will involve:

  • Promoting products such as felt roofing, green roofing systems, bitumen membranes, hot melt roofing, cold liquid applied waterproofing, waterproof roof coatings, single ply, structural waterproofing, etc., through field sales.
  • Winning specifications primarily with architects and building surveyors.
  • Engaging with main contractors and approved roofing contractors.
  • Inheriting a significant project bank to help achieve next year’s sales targets.
  • Managing a pipeline of live projects and projects in the tender process.
  • Focusing on new build projects like commercial buildings, schools, public buildings, factories, and residential blocks.
  • Product training will be provided.

The ideal applicant will have:

  • A proven track record in technically focused architectural or building surveyors' specification field sales.
  • Experience from contractor or similar building/product sales roles with technical focus and route-to-market in specifications.
  • Roofing experience is not essential.
  • Experience with building envelope products such as cladding, EWI, roof windows, etc., or contractor backgrounds.
  • Knowledge or experience with local authorities, building surveyors, or building owners/end users may be beneficial.
  • Surveying knowledge or experience may be useful.
  • Strong industry experience in new build construction preferred.
  • Highly motivated, self-driven, with a strong ambition to succeed and progress.
  • Professional approach, excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • A hungry-to-learn mentality.
