Job Description:
  • Status: Temporary Role

Reporting to the Group Technical Manager, we are recruiting temporarily for a Specification & Packaging Technologist.

Duties:
  • Responsible for technical sign-off for packaging, including checking artwork against specifications through various stages.
  • Write and maintain specifications, generate recipe information, ingredients declaration, nutritional and allergen information in compliance with legislation.
  • Coordinate all information for new product specifications and transfer data into factory and customer systems.
  • Maintain product quality, safety, composition, and labeling.
  • Assess and trial packaging samples within the factory environment for compatibility.
  • Liaise with packaging providers to ensure product compliance and maintain the specification database.
  • Assist the technical team during customer visits and audits as required.
Personal Profile:
  • A food-related degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience with online retailer specification systems is preferred.
  • Experience in conducting packaging trials and assessments.
  • Strong communication skills for dealing with suppliers and customers.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong understanding of the food manufacturing industry.
The ideal candidate will be:

Proficient in Microsoft Office and retailer approval systems, with previous experience in a similar role.
