Job summary

Chaucer Syndicates Ltd is seeking a Specialty Associate Analyst to support the Exposure Management function. The role will focus on Political Violence and Political/Credit Risk initially, expanding across Specialty classes to model and monitor exposures within the company’s risk appetite.

You will manage data accuracy, support governance, and help develop processes for exposure management and regulator reporting, working closely with Senior Analysts and underwriters in London.

Qualifications

• Essential: Knowledge of Exposure Management
• Essential: Understanding of the London Insurance Market and fundamental insurance concepts
• Desirable: Experience in risk modelling and loss quantification
• Desirable: RMS Risklink / Sequel Impact advantageous
• Advanced use of Microsoft Excel and knowledge of other Microsoft Office products
• SQL and Power BI advantageous

Responsibilities

• Interpret complex slip terms and conditions, capturing exposures for catastrophe modelling and aggregation systems
• Review underwriting submissions data and liaise with brokers and underwriters to obtain analysis information
• Produce MI and analytical reports for the Specialty classes to monitor exposures within risk appetite
• Oversee peer reviews and query support for outsourced data entry
• Validate and maintain tools to assist evaluation of Specialty classes
• Assist with Exposure Management returns to Lloyd's and external regulators
• Ensure processes are documented and governance updated
• Develop and enhance aggregate management methodologies in collaboration with Senior Analysts
• Work with underwriters daily to align priorities and expectations
• Collaborate with the Specialty Lead to improve risk representation and scenarios
