Job Title: Specialty Doctor in General Adult Psychiatry (Inpatients)

Department: Royal Edinburgh Hospital

Base: Inpatient Wards, Royal Edinburgh Building at the Royal Edinburgh Hospital

Entry Criteria for a Specialty Doctor

A doctor appointed to this grade:

  • shall have full registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council (GMC);
  • shall have completed at least four years’ full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent, gained on a less than full-time or flexible basis), with at least two years in a specialty training programme or specialty registrar locum appointment for training (LAT);

Or

  • shall have equivalent training, experience, or competencies, either in the UK or overseas.

This is a full-time (10 sessions) post; however, NHS Lothian supports those wishing to work less than full-time, offering flexibility in the timetable and job plan. Prospective candidates interested in part-time work should contact the listed consultants to discuss options.
