NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a part-time specialty grade doctor to join their Old Age Psychiatry team. The shift pattern for this post is Tuesday and Friday, along with a half-day on Thursday. Please note the salary is pro rata for part-time hours.
Old Age Psychiatry Inverclyde HSCP, part of the Greater Glasgow and Clyde Mental Health services, seeks enthusiastic candidates for this less-than-full-time 5-session specialty grade post based at Inverclyde Royal Hospital, Greenock. There is no on-call requirement.
The successful applicant will provide acute old age liaison psychiatry senior medical support at Inverclyde Royal Hospital, with opportunities for community team sessions and SPA time for appraisal and professional development. They will work with an integrated health and social work mental health team for older adults, supported by a full-time consultant psychiatrist, another part-time locum consultant, and a full-time specialty grade old age psychiatrist. The hospital has dedicated beds for older adults, including acute psychiatric beds on Ward 4 and the HBCCC Willow Ward.
The consultant psychiatrist will provide regular supervision, with a strong focus on continuous professional development, teaching, and training. For those interested in CESR, there are dedicated tutors, and this fixed-term post offers an opportunity to pursue this pathway.
Applicants must possess full GMC registration, a license to practice, and at least 4 years of postgraduate training, with two in relevant specialties or equivalent experience. For specialty doctor posts, completion of Day 1 and Day 2 of Section 22 Training is expected.
