Job overview

This is a great opportunity for a Specialty Doctor to join the Older Adult Psychiatry Team in Salford.

This is a full-time appointment for a Specialty Doctor in psychiatry to work with the community mental health team for older adults. They will cover the North Cluster within Salford, predominantly in Walkden, Little Hulton, and Worsley.

Main duties of the job

  1. Join the clinical team supporting North Salford, based in Swinton, supervised by Dr M Javeed.
  2. Liaise with medical colleagues in Salford and support the community team with clinical activities such as meetings, CPAs, professionals’ meetings, and Mental Health Act-related activities.
  3. Review patients presenting to MATS clinics and conduct home visits for MATS and CMHT patients.
  4. Diagnose and formulate management plans with supervision as required.
  5. Obtain Section 12 Approved clinician status, with support from the organization if needed.
  6. Collaborate with local GPs and multidisciplinary teams, including external partners.
  7. Assess and manage risks, including vulnerability, suicide, health and safety, and harm to others.
  8. Note: The post holder will not participate in the Salford middle grade on-call rota.
  9. Report professionally to the clinical supervisor and Lead Consultant, and operationally to the Head of Operations.
