Job description
Overview

At EKHUFT we are pleased to offer the position of Specialty Doctor in Paediatrics to join a dynamic Child Health Team. The appointee will participate in EWTD-compliant full shift rota of 13 Middle Grades to cover 24 hours, 7 days a week General Paediatrics and Neonatal acute and emergency care for children and young people age 0 - 16 (18) in Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital in Margate (QEQM).

Attendances to A&E from April 2017 to November 2017: 157,535 and Rainbow Ward admissions: 10,934.

Responsibilities
  • Work within a rota that provides two Middle Grades per day from 8:30 AM to 9:00 PM and two Middle Grades every night (24/7).
  • Each Monday to Friday, one Middle Grade dedicated to Neonates (8:30 AM to 5:00 PM).
  • One Middle Grade dedicated to run an outpatient clinic with a Consultant (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM).
  • Contribute to General Paediatrics, Neonatal care, and emergency care for children and young people in various hospital environments specially designated and staffed for paediatric care.
  • Contribute to shaping the ideal job plan upon successful appointment, with a review after three months and then annually.
  • Utilize available resources and administrative support to perform duties effectively.
