Overview

An exciting opportunity for a motivated Specialty Doctor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to join Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust on a fixed-term contract ending in September 2026 (with potential extension). The post may suit a newly appointed Specialty Doctor or an existing Specialty Doctor seeking a fresh challenge. There may be an opportunity to gain experience in both obstetrics and gynaecology, depending on what is appropriate for the individual. The post would ideally start as soon as possible.

Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical care in obstetrics and gynaecology within a District General Hospital setting.
  • Develop experience and career progression via the CESR pathway to become a largely independent practitioner and potentially a Consultant in the UK.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • GMC Registration
  • Minimum of four years medical experience with at least 2 years within Obstetrics and Gynaecology
  • Teaching/Training Experience
  • Completed Research

The post holder would benefit from prior NHS experience and a commitment to ongoing professional development within the CESR framework. The role supports doctors who wish to progress their careers within obstetrics and gynaecology and provides an opportunity to gain experience and develop skills in this specialty.
