Specialty Doctor in Medicine of the Elderly

Fixed Term 3 Months

Entry Criteria for a Specialty Doctor:

  • shall have full registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council (GMC);
  • shall have completed at least four years full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a less than full-time or flexible basis), at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme or specialty registrar locum appointment for training (LAT);
  • or shall have equivalent training, experience or competencies, either in the UK or overseas.

2. A dentist appointed to this grade:

  • shall be registered and have a Licence to Practice with the General Dental Council (GDC);
  • shall have completed four years full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a less than full-time or flexible basis) since first obtaining registration, including adequate experience in the relevant specialty;
  • or shall have equivalent training, experience or competencies, either in the UK or overseas.
